On April 25, Alta Ski Resort announced that they had recorded 900 inches of snowfall for the season, the most snow they’ve seen in a single season in recorded history. During this record-breaking season, they also released several interlodge announcements and closures for avalanche danger.

Resorts across Utah and California saw record or higher than average snowfalls, prompting some concern about spring flooding during meltoff. In fact, state officials have declared a State of Emergency in Utah due to flood risk on account of all of the snowfall. Meanwhile, ski resorts on the East coast and in Europe saw record low snow falls and dismal snowpack this season.
