Kelowna ski resort supports those impacted by ‘most destructive fire season on record
On Sunday, August 20, resort officials at Big White Ski Resort in Kelowna, British Columbia, closed operations on the bullet chairlift to focus on helping people who have evacuated from wildfires in BC. Some private accommodations have offered housing for evacuees and opened a parking lot for RVs, tent trailers, and camping is for evacuees only. The resort is discouraging guests outside of evacuees from visiting the resort while the wildfires still pose a threat.
More information about evacuee services is available on the Big White Resort website.
