Professional Climbers Alex Honnold and Hazel Findlay Combine Unprecedented Climb with Climate Science

Professional climbers Hazel Findlay and Alex Honnold recently completed a challenging six week climb up Ingmikortilaq, a wall in Greenland that had previously been one of the tallest unclimbed walls in the world, according to National Geographic. While they took on this unprecedented feat, they were also collecting data for climate scientists. Findlay chronicled some of their data collection activities on Instagram. From collecting rock samples to placing temperature sensors, Findlay and Honnold, helped scientists gather information from an area where there was little human access until now.
