Vegan and Vegetarian Cookbooks for Athletes

Industrial agriculture, and meat production in particular is a major contributor to greenhouse gas emissions. A cultural shift towards a more plant-based diet could have a tremendous impact on climate change. It has been estimated that if everyone adopted a vegan diet, emissions could be reduced by as much as 70 percent. A switch to a vegetarian diet, which includes cheese, milk, and eggs, could reduce emissions by 63 percent.

There are many successful athletes who don’t eat meat, but a completely meat free diet might not be for everyone.

Even decreasing your meat consumption à la Meatless Monday or being more conscious about your meat consumption à la Slow Food or Wild Fed can help.
