Arc’teryx Launches Circularity Program ReBird™
Canadian gear brand Arc’teryx Equipment recently announced the launch of ReBird™ – a new program that connects guests to their circularity initiatives. ReBird™ is part of the brand’s ongoing commitment to sustainability.
“At Arc’teryx we have always built products that last, and durability is crucial to how we see ourselves contributing to a more circular economy and achieving our global climate goals.” said Katie Wilson, Senior Manager Social & Environmental Sustainability. “It enables us to do fun work like make new product from old, resell used gear, and repair. While some of this work has been happening as long as we’ve been in existence, some of it is brand new.”
ReBird™ is comprised of three initiatives:
Upcycled products, like windshells and totes and pouches made by worn down Arc’teryx GORE-TEX jackets or scraps.
Used gear. Used Arc’teryx gear is repaired, cleaned and then listed on the Arc’teryx resale site where it can find a second home.
Repair services. Arc’teryx offers care and repair tips, warranty support and paid repair services, via their website.
Circularity is an important step for decreasing the environmental impact of the clothing industry.
