Vail Resorts Receives Notice of Violation for Snowmaking Spill

According to Vail Daily, Vail Resorts has received a notice of violation and cease and desist from The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment in relation to a spill from their snowmaking system that occurred in September 2021. The accident resulted in two million gallons of water that contained algaecide leaking into Mill and Gore Greeks. The spill is being linked to the deaths of fish, algae, worms and stoneflies.
