Yoga and workout recovery— What the research says:
Research demonstrates that parasympathetic activity (the part of the nervous system that helps you calm after stress “rest and digest”) decreases after exercise such as resistance training, endurance exercise and HIIT. One way to enhance parasympathetic activity (and, therefore, workout recovery) is to incorporate a short yoga practice into your post-exercise routine. In research, post-exercise yoga has been found to enhance parasympathetic activity and increase HRV.
