Yosemite Facelift Hosts First Virtual Cleanup Event
Yosemite Facelift is an annual event dedicated to cleaning up Yosemite National Park. Ken Yager, who first visited visited Yosemite in 1972 and founded the Yosemite Climbing Association in 2003, began the event because he was simply sick of walking through toilet paper on his way to his climbs. The 2020 Yosemite Facelift will be the 17th annual event, and the first that will be hosted virtually and globally. Attendees have picked up over 1 million pounds of trash since the conception of Yosemite Facelift.
From September 22nd-27th, 2020 the team at Yosemite Facelift is asking people from around the world to take the pledge and clean up their local area.
The online event is also offering outdoors films, presentations by climbers Alex Honnold and Tommy Caldwell, and more. Find the full schedule of films and presentations here. All programming will be available live at: Yosemite Facelift YouTube channel.
