Yosemite National Park Closes Due to Severe Winter Conditions

Forecasted heavy snow and blizzard conditions close down popular national park

On February 26, 2023 Yosemite National Park officials announced that they would be closing the northern California park until March 1, 2023 citing severe winter conditions. The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning from February 26, 04pm PST until February 27, 10am PST and a Blizzard Warning from February 27, 10am PST until March 1, 4pm PST with heavy snow predicted every day throughout the period.

Visitors who were already in the park were reportedly caravanned out of the park amidst the closures.
